Will a candidate have a choice to change the mode of examination ?

No, the JEE Main 2021 is a completely computer-based test (CBT). The examination will be only through online mode.

Is it mandatory to give the exam twice or can a candidate give it once? If the candidate gives the exam both times, which score will be considered?

No, this is the candidate's choice. Whether he/she wishes to give one attempt or two is entirely up to them. In case they have attempted both the exams, the better of the two scores will be used for the purpose of ranking in the merit list.

What about syllabus, eligibility, language and other factors? Will they change?

No, these parameters will remain unchanged as per reports. The only change appeared in age criteria which is now, candidates who have passed class 12th/equivalent examination in 2020 or appearing in 2021 are eligible to apply for JEE Main 2021 exam. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD), must have been born on or after October 1, 1991, to be eligible for JEE Main. Candidates of these categories have been given a relaxation of 5 years. Note: Date of birth will be considered as mentioned in the Secondary Education Board/ University certificate.

How many attempts can a candidate give in JEE Main? Can he/she give it in 2022 also?

Candidates can attempt JEE Main a maximum of 3 times. However, details of eligibility for 2021 have not been announced. It is expected to be available along with the brochure which may be released tentatively in August 2020.

In case the photograph is not having name and date, would the form be rejected?

Name of the candidate and the date on which the photograph is taken is to be mentioned on the photograph, but in case uploaded photograph does not have name and date, the form will not be rejected and no correction is required in such a case and he/she will be issued admit card for appearing in JEE (Main) – 2021 as usual.

The candidates applied for both paper 1 & Paper 2 but do not want to appear in Paper – 2 or Paper -1. Is this possible?

There is no compulsion for candidates to appear in both papers, they can appear in the paper of their choice. But there is no refund of the fee.

Can a candidate change the date of their JEE Main examination?

Candidates can change the date of their JEE Main examination only if it clashes with something important examination date, like a board examination.

What colleges can a candidate get into through JEE Main?

All IITs, NITs, IIITs and a list of 100 or so central or state-funded institutions participate in JEE Main. Though IITs and ISM don’t accept the JEE Main score directly, they require the JEE Advanced score, this is the first step to getting into these colleges.
